Who it is aimed at:
Physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and other health professionals. In short, professionals who individualise or want to individualise treatments for each patient and in each session. In addition, they want to think about how to give more value and improve their treatments using tools whose application is based on science.
Duration: 15 hours.
Start date: Immediate – You will have the course available to you six months, 180 days after the start date.
Faculty:
– Francisco Selva PT, PhD
The Superficial Neuromodulation® Training (NMS®) is based on learning how to modulate aberrant myotatic reflexes coming from the Central Nervous System in order to treat musculoskeletal dysfunctions more effectively.
This training includes more than 100 videos on Fundamentals, Embryological Hierarchy, Applications and Test-retest.
Once the dysfunctional findings have been extracted using somatic tests respecting the Embryological Hierarchy proposed by Superficial Neuromodulation®, Magnetic Tape® will be applied in the correct locations and it will be evaluated if they are effective.
You will also learn to locate and distinguish an aberrant myotatic reflex (CNS) and not to confuse it with a rebellious contracture (PNS).
You will learn how to eliminate aberrant myotatic reflexes that are created from the Central Nervous System.
Magnetic Tape® is created to become a fundamental tool in the day-to-day work of the physiotherapist, taking into account anatomy, physiology and science.
The effects of Magnetic Tape® induce a paradigm shift in the assessment processes, in the treatment and rehabilitation phases of patients or athletes.
Our online courses are the most up-to-date, accessible and scientific way to learn. Created to enhance the results of physiotherapists’ treatments.
Connect from wherever you want, whenever you want to do the lessons and watch the recorded case studies.
Each lesson has different topics with video clips of fundamentals, videos of applications or tests as well as quizzes in most of the lessons.
Both the lessons and the topics will be done in a linear way, in order from the beginning, so it will be necessary to complete the first lesson in order to access the second one.
The activities marked as evaluable will have no minimum time to complete them and multiple attempts to complete them. There will be at least one at the end of each subject, which will normally be test-type questionnaires that must be passed in order to begin the next lesson.
The minimum mark that the student must have in each evaluable activity will be 80%, so he/she will have to correctly complete at least 80% in order to move on to the next activity.
The criteria for passing the course are:
100% of the non-assessable activities must be completed.
80% of the evaluable activities must be passed.
The Superficial Neuromodulation® online course is divided into 13 lessons:
- Superficial Neuromodulation®.
- Magnetic Tape®.
- The Skin: highly innervated sensory organ.
- The Epidermis.
- Ectoderm – Epidermal Scars.
- The metameres.
- Aberrant myotatic reflex.
- Priority somatic elements to be tested and techniques.
- Embryological hierarchy of Superficial Neuromodulation®.
- Three keys to modulate aberrant physiological activity.
- Differences between Magnetic Tape and kinesiology tape.
- Orofacial System Test.
- Videos of practical applications.

Several scientific articles have already been published in JCR journals located in the first two quartiles (Q1 and Q2) where it is concluded that Magnetic Tape:
Modulates the Autonomic Nervous System (Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous System) assessed through pupillometry.
Improves muscle activity when performing an isometric contraction assessed with Surface Electromyogram (EMG).
Increases strength when performing an isometric contraction assessed by dynamometry.
Modulates vascularisation of the lower limbs assessed with Doppler ultrasound.
Reduces perceived pain in the spine assessed with algometry.
Knowing how to achieve the results of these studies, following the Embryological Hierarchy of Superficial Neuromodulation will improve the clinical results with your patients.
